The Government promulgates Decree No. 104/2021/ND-CP extending the time limit for paying excise tax for domestically produced or assembled cars.

Specifically, the tax payment time limit shall be extended for the payable excise tax amount incurred in the October and November 2021 tax periods for domestically produced or assembled cars. The extension period from the end of the time limit for payment of excise tax following the law on tax administration, specifically as follows:
The deadline for payment of excise duty must be incurred of the October 2021 tax period no later than December 20, 2021.
The deadline for payment of excise tax payable incurred by the November 2021 tax period is no later than December 30, 2021.
In case taxpayers make additional declarations of tax declaration dossiers of the extended tax period, increasing the amount of excise tax payable and sending to tax authorities before the expiration of the extended tax payment time limit, the extended tax amount includes the additional payable tax amount due to additional declaration.
In case taxpayers are subject to extension of declaration and submission of excise tax declarations following current law, they must not yet pay the amount of excise tax payable incurred on the declared excise tax declaration.
In case an enterprise has branches or affiliated units, which declare excise tax separately from the tax authority directly managing it, they are also eligible for the extension to pay excise tax. In case a branch or affiliated unit of an enterprise does not engage in automobile production or assembly, the branch or affiliated unit is not eligible for the extension to pay excise tax.
The Decree takes effect from December 4, 2021. After the extension period according to this Decree, the payment of excise tax on domestically manufactured or assembled automobiles shall comply with current regulations.
